“…It is possible that any inflammation was subclinical or that there is an alternative mechanism of action of imiquimod. In addition, although an inflammatory reaction seems predictive of treatment responsiveness, patients in our own series as well as a previously reported case raise the possibility of a partial response to imiquimod 15 …”

“…In addition, although an inflammatory reaction seems predictive of treatment responsiveness, patients in our own series as well as a previously reported case raise the possibility of a partial response to imiquimod. 15 In conclusion, we have presented our experience of LM treated with imiquimod. Many patients were treated more than 5 years ago and show no signs of persistent disease.…”

Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…Invasive melanoma has previously been reported to occur after use of imiquimod for melanoma in situ. This melanoma occurred during treatment with imiquimod 6 . Our patient developed invasive melanoma 24 months after initial topical treatment and then 11 months after his second treatment with imiquimod.…”

“…Kai et al 11 followed 18 patients who cleared on histology after using imiquimod treatment to evaluate the recurrence of lentigo maligna and found a 0% reoccurrence rate at 5 years. Fisher and Lang 12 treated an 87-year-old patient with melanoma in situ, which was confirmed with 13 pretreatment biopsies, with 5% imiquimod cream and during treatment the patient developed invasive melanoma. Other studies show the efficacy of imiquimod in the treatment of melanoma in situ and lentigo maligna to be 76% histologic and 78% clinical clearance with a reoccurrence rate of 2.3% 5,13 .…”
