“…Similarly, the dual effect on T cells of alefacept may be true to OLP, in which T-cell activation is the key of its immunopathogenesis (18). A dramatic response to alefacept therapy has been illustrated by Fivenson et al (21) in two patients with recalcitrant generalized and OLP. Moreover, in the small case series conducted by Chang et al, (22) alefacept may have conferred a modest therapeutic response in erosive LP.…”

Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…In case reports about the sites of involvement in patients with GCLP, extensive extremity and trunk involvement has been observed [ 16 , 17 ]. In our study, we found that trunk and flexural region involvement was more common in patients with GCLP than in those with LCLP.…”

“…There is one report of a patient with refractory oral and cutaneous LP who experienced significant improvement after therapy with efalizumab [6]. Another report on the use of alefacept in two patients with LP showed a dramatic response of all skin lesions [7]. Etanercept is a fully human TNF-a receptor fusion protein that binds TNF-a with greater affinity than natural receptors.…”
