Goldberg and Dexter (1951) found beneficial results in treating atopic dermatitis with calciferol, this study being based on the fact that disseminated neurodermatitis usually responds to sunlight. Ludwig (1953) showed that in chronic eczema of the atopic type there was a raised blood cholesterol and that during calciferol therapy the cholesterol level fell progressively to normal limits as the eczema improved.…”
