“…HFNO has recently been described for treating CO toxicities in human medicine. Studies show that HFNO can significantly reduce the FCOHb level within the first hour compared with traditional oxygen therapy, and the half‐life is reportedly reduced to 20–45 minutes with HFNO whereas traditional oxygen has a half‐life of 70–80 minutes 4–8 . Additionally, patients suffering from mucosal inflammation secondary to smoke inhalation likely would benefit from the superior humidification of HFNO.…”
