Abstract:The choice of adequate methods to identify children who were victims of sexual abuse is a necessary practice in the forensic scenery. Among the psychological assessment instruments, the Rorschach test shows special usefulness for this purpose. Aiming at the broadening and foundation of these ideas and seeking to verify the extension and importance of the use of this instrument in psychological evaluation of the victims of sexual abuse. To do so, we preceded to an electronic bibliographic research of indexed papers of studies developed in Brazil, Cuba, Argentina, Chile, United States of America and Canada. The main fi ndings certify the validity of Rorschach in cases where sexual abuse is suspected and in the investigation of its sequels, and its possible contributions to the area, which confers to the instrument the necessary properties to answer in a safe way within this context. Entre os instrumentos de avaliação psicológica, o Método de Rorschach demonstra especial utilidade para esta fi nalidade. Visando a ampliar e fundamentar essas ideias, este estudo teve como objetivo verifi car a extensão e importância da utilização do Rorschach como instrumento de avaliação psicológica de vítimas de abuso sexual. Para tanto, procedeu-se à busca bibliográfi ca eletrônica de artigos indexados. Os artigos revisados derivam de estudos desenvolvidos no Brasil, Cuba, Argentina, Chile, Estados Unidos da América e Canadá. Suicide attempt is characterized by complex and multifaceted phenomena with significance on global public health. The aim of this study was to grasp the structure of social representations of suicide of women with history of domestic violence and suicide attempt. The study was developed with a qualitative approach, based on the Theory of Social Representations. There were 30 women that responded the Free Word Association Test, all of them with history of domestic violence and suicide attempt by poisoning. Data were processed through the EVOC software and the results were grouped into three categories: core elements, intermediate elements and peripheral elements. The representation of women about suicide is related to life histories characterized by rejection and lack of love, which leads to disease, especially because of depression. The feeling of powerlessness in face of the need for change and release produce emotional problems that culminate in the decision of committing suicide.

ResumoO objetivo do estudo foi compreender os signifi cados da escolha do fogo como um dispositivo para a tentativa de suicídio em mulheres. Participaram oito mulheres que haviam sofrido queimaduras autoinfl igidas e que estavam em acompanhamento médico ambulatorial para reparação das cicatrizes da queimadura em um hospital. Todas as participantes responderam a uma entrevista semiestruturada que investigava as suas histórias de vida, o momento de atear-se fogo e as motivações para tal ato, e a um questionário de dados sociodemográfi cos e clínicos. Constatou-se que o ato de atear-se fogo foi premeditado em alguns casos, mas não em outros. Para aquelas mulheres que premeditaram o ato, a escolha do fogo se deu porque esse seria um método efi caz para a morte. Para aquelas que atearam fogo sem premeditação, o uso do fogo parece ter sido impulsivo num momento de confl ito e raiva, para chamar a atenção de alguém próximo, especialmente o companheiro e fi lhos.
