Transmission Canals for the Photon-Assisted Transport of Electron through the Double-Barrier Resonant Tunneling Structure

Abstract: The resonance and non-resonance transmission canals of double-barrier resonant tunneling structure are established for the electronphoton system using the exact solution of one-dimensional non-stationary Schrödinger equation expanded into the Fourier range. It is shown that besides the main and satellite, the mixed quasi-stationary states which cause the appearance of specic transmission canals with the properties strongly dependent on the intensity and frequency of electromagnetic eld, exist in the nanostruct… Show more

“…As an example of practical use we should mention the important role of phonon-and photon assisted tunneling of electrons through the multi-layer resonant tunneling nanostructures (RTS), where, due to the interaction with the fields, the new states between which the quantum transitions occur are observed causing the appearance of new transmitting canals of the system [3,4]. These phenomena essentially effect the functioning of nanodevices (quantum cascade lasers and detectors), the main operating elements of which are the multi-layer RTS [5][6][7].…”

“…The theoretical methods of the calculation of spectral parameters of RTS, being the elements of nano-devices, are presented in the book [32] and reviews [33,34]. The last achievements of the theory concerning the photonassisted transport in multilayered RTS are presented in reviews [35,36] and original papers [37,38].…”
