Cada sociedade, e podemos dizer inclusive que cada indivíduo, tem uma noção de risco. As discussões acerca deste tema são amplas e muitas vezes pautadas no senso comum, conceitos hegemônicos e subjetividades. Ao discutir-se a alimentação, sistemas agroalimentares e sustentabilidade ambiental, as noções de risco percorrem caminhos oblíquos. Quanto à noção de risco que nos orienta, este artigo se propõe verificar quais são as maiores ameaças referidas quando o assunto é alimentação, de maneira hegemônica e/ou relatos de senso comum e em artigos correlacionados ao assunto, e posteriormente arrolar estas ameaças, elencando outras que não façam parte do imaginário popular num contexto de desenvolvimento territorial sustentável. Para este fim, procede-se a metodologia de Revisão de Literatura Narrativa, na busca por outros artigos, documentos oficiais, leis e livros que trouxessem o tema “riscos alimentares” tanto no viés da segurança alimentar e nutricional voltado a saúde, quanto no viés ambiental. Em relação aos resultados, foram encontrados diversos documentos relacionados a saúde dos alimentos e suas consequências na saúde humana e poucos documentos que fizessem relação entre o sistema agroalimentar e o meio ambiente ou riscos ambientais relacionados a alimentação humana, o que permite concluir que há necessidade de maior correlação entre os sistemas de produção de alimentos em todas as suas instâncias e as questões ambientais.
