“…Brida et al ( 2020 ) empirically examined the relationship between tourism and economic growth for 80 countries over the period from 1995 to 2016 and concluded that tourism contributed positively to economic growth both directly and indirectly. Croes et al ( 2021 ) used a limited information maximum likelihood (LIML) approach to investigate tourism specialization, economic growth, and transition economies for Poland, concluding that tourism specialization has a short-term positive impact on economic growth. Croes et al ( 2021 ) also incorporated an industry-level analysis of the relationship between tourism and economic growth in the USA from 1998 to 2017 and found that investment in tourism development may lead to long-run equilibrium economic growth even during economic stagnation, but tourism may not effectively stimulate economic growth in the short run, as it may take a cue from the general economy.…”

Fahimi et al ( 2018a , b ) tested empirically the role of tourism in influencing the economic growth of micro states from 1995 to 2015 and found that the tourism sector did not contribute to economic growth over the study period.…”

“…May we foresee a slight difference around the board (Detotto, Giannoni, & Goavec, 2021). Such economies expose underutilized output factors that are incompatible with the expectation of fully working production factors with a normal competitive advantage (Croes, Ridderstaat, Bąk, & Zientara, 2021). It attempts to assess the importance of innovation for economic growth by investigating whether the level of innovation has contributed to economic growth or whether innovation expansion is simply a result of rapid economic growth (Maradana et al, 2019).…”
