This paper presents a review of the literature on the measurement of creativity. Creativity definitions are discussed as a starting point for understanding the nature of this construct. The four major approaches to measuring creativity (process, person, product and press) are reviewed, pointing out commonly used instruments as well as the advantages and weaknesses of each approach. This review reveals that the measurement of creativity is an unsettled issue, and that the existing instruments purporting to measure creativity suffer from serious conceptual and psychometric shortcomings. Research gaps and suggestions for future research are discussed. INTRODUCTIONCreativity is considered as a precious asset for solving individual, organizational and social problems and achieving sustainable development (Barbot, Besançon, & Lubart, 2015;Lubart, Zenasni, & Barbot, 2013;Zeng, Proctor, & Salvendy, 2011). Accordingly, understanding the nature and determinants of creativity is of great importance to enhance its development. However, although much research has been devoted to such understanding, some controversial issues have not yet been settled.One of the most controversial issues in creativity research is the measurement of this construct (Baer & McKool, 2009; Barbot, Besançon, & Lubart, 2011; Blamiresa & Peterson, 2014;Kaufman, Baer, Cole, & Sexton, 2008;Mouchiroud & Lubart, 2001;Park, Chun, & Lee, 2016;Zeng et al., 2011). In addition, these instruments have limitations, such as measuring trivial aspects of creativity or lacking adequate psychometric properties (Baer & McKool, 2009;Kaufman et al., 2007). In the present psychology-informed literature review we address some aspects of the nature of creativity from cognitive and confluence perspectives. The authors begin by discussing models of creativity offered by cognitive and confluence approaches, focusing on the transition from univariate to multivariate models. The article explores what these literatures suggest about factors that can influence creativity, including cognitive conative and environmental ones. The article goes on to present the overlaps and distinctiveness between creativity and innovation and the vexed question of the evaluation of creativity exploring two contrasting stances of psychometric and componential approaches. The review concludes by acknowledging the complexity of the phenomenon of creativity explored here mainly through cognitive and confluence lenses touching on psychometric and social-personality approaches, and recognizes the potential of other lenses in psychology such as psychodynamic, humanistic and evolutionary, for understanding creativity.Keywords: creativity, cognitive, confluence, complexity. Received La naturaleza de la creatividad: perspectivas cognitivas y confluencia ResumenEn la presente revisión de la literatura acerca de la psicología informativa abordamos algunos aspectos de la naturaleza de la creatividad desde perspectivas cognitivas y de confluencia. Los autores comienzan hablando de modelos de creatividad obtenidos por enfoques cognitivos y de confluencia, centrándose en la transición de modelos univariados a multivariados. El artí-culo explora en la literatura que se sugiere acerca de los factores que pueden influir en la creatividad, incluyendo la cognitiva conativa y la relacionada al medio ambiente. Luego presentamos las similitudes y diferencias entre la creatividad y la innovación, y la controvertida cuestión acerca de la evaluación de la creatividad, explorando dos posturas contrapuestas; los enfoques psicométricos y componenciales. Esta revisión concluye reconociendo la complejidad del fenómeno de la creatividad explorado aquí principalmente a través de una mirada cognitiva y de confluencia, tocando los enfoques psicométricos y sociales de la personalidad, y reconoce el potencial de otras miradas de la psicología, como la psicodinámica, la humanistica y la evolucionaria, para entender la creatividad.

Introducción. El objetivo de este trabajo es avanzar en el estudio de la relación entre creatividad e inteligencia, analizando los perfiles cognitivos de los alumnos. Se formula la hipótesis siguiente: si la creatividad se produce como resultado de unir conceptos distantes, un perfil más equilibrado entre las habilidades cognitivas, -un perfil plano-podría facilitar una relación débil entre conceptos, por lo tanto, los individuos creativos podrían presentar un perfil cognitivo con menos picos y valles.Método. En este studio han participado 679 alumnos de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria, de edades comprendidas entre los 12 y los 17 años (M = 13.86; DT = 1.25). Los instrumentos utilizados fueron el TTCT y el DAT-5. Los alumnos fueron divididos en tres grupos según el nivel de creatividad: bajo, medio y alto. El perfil cognitivo de cada grupo se analizó en busca de picos.Resultados. Los resultados indican que, contrariamente a nuestra hipótesis, el perfil cognitivo de los alumnos creativos no es diferente al de sus compañeros no creativos.Discusión y Conclusiones. Cabe la posibilidad de que la hipótesis del perfil plano de los alumnos creativos no se confirme en una población normal, ya que los alumnos poco inteligentes tieneden a mostrar poca creatividad. La hipotesis sería útil para explicar las diferencias en creatividad entre alumnos de medio-alto nivel intellectual. AbstractIntroduction.
