Abstract: Tissue transglutaminase (tTG) is present in the human nervous system and is predominantly localized to neurons. Treatment of human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells with retinoic acid results in increased tTG expression, which is both necessary and sufficient for differentiation.
