Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). The similar glaciation style to the Queer Shan also exists in many regions in the Himalayas and Tibetan Plateau such as Lahul Himalaya in India (Owen et al , 1997), Chitral in the eastern Hindu Kush (Owen et al , 2002b), Swat Himalaya in Pakistan (Richards et al , 2000a), Nanga Parbat in northern Pakistan (Phillips et al , 2000), Macha Khola in Nepal (Zech et al , 2003) and the Anyemaqen and Nianbaoyeze Mountains of the northeastern Tibetan Plateau (Owen et al , 2003).
