In addition, Thomas Mann's text "Das Bild der Mutter" (1930) and his intensive correspondence with the Austrian director Karl Lustig-Prean, exiled in São Paulo, and leader of the movement "Das andere Deutschland-Brazil" (Movimento dos Alemães Livres do Brasil), as well as Mann's Brazilian reading traces, including the manuscript of Marte Brill's Brazilian exile novel, Schmelztigel, have been intensively researched (see Paulino/Soethe 2009).
