Abstract: The large collection of thermophysical properties data for liquids available in the open literature is analyzed, describing its importance for industrial purposes. Although there has been a boom of thermophysical properties measurements for these fluids in the past decade, the reported analysis shows that studies have been centered on a limited number of fluids, whereas data collection for the new family ionic liquids is lacking. Measurements have been performed for limited temperature ranges, and pressure eff… Show more

“…17,18 Therefore, great efforts have been made in order to determine these properties experimentally or by theoretical calculations. [17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25] Due to the large number of possible ionic liquids, predictive models have been proposed to overcome this limitation. [26][27][28][29][30] Until recently, ionic liquids were regarded as non-volatile, and thus did not exhibit measurable vapor pressures, even at higher temperatures.…”

“…Some research has been done pertaining to the short-term effects of high temperatures on ionic liquids. It has been shown that the chemical nature of the anion predominantly determines the onset of thermal decomposition 17 , and in comparison with common IL anions, such as BF 4 , PF 6 , and other halides, inclusion of the Tf 2 N anion results in the greatest thermal stability 18 . In one particular study, Blake et.…”

“…Water is the ''greenest'' solvent; its adventitious presence influences the properties/performance of ILs, sometimes dramatically, with consequences for reactions that are carried out therein. [5][6][7] Therefore it is important to understand the properties of these mixtures, in particular the solvation, at the molecular level. [8][9][10][11][12] Information about the mechanism and relative importance of interactions of a solute with both components of a binary solvent mixture can be readily extracted from the study of solvatochromic substances, hereafter denoted as ''probes''.…”
