This paper deals with a new approach to nonlinear and nonequilibrium thermodynamics. The new concept, developed by P. H. Lindenmeyer, states that in a heat‐setting process, with the same average processing temperature, the addition of a sinusoidal fluctuation (approximately) can produce two opposite changes depending upon the frequency and amplitude of the temperature fluctuation. Preliminary experimental results obtained on nylon 6 monofilaments using a flexible thermomechanical analyzer have clearl…
scite is a Brooklyn-based startup that helps researchers better discover and evaluate scientific articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by researchers from dozens of countries and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
