“…The analyses were conducted in nitrogen atmosphere, but the observed oxidation may be caused by the adsorbed oxygen which could have been incorporated into the polymer bulk during extrusion taking place in air. Such course of thermal degradation of PP corresponds well to the results reported by Golebiewski and Galeski [20]. Thus, our observations are similar to that of the mentioned authors.…”

“…Thermal degradation of plain PP is related to the endothermic effect and occurs before the mass loss starts. In nanocomposites the endothermic effect is eliminated and thermal degradation is shifted towards higher temperatures and correlated with mass loss (Golebiewski and Galeski 2007). Selvakumar and Manoharan (2014) determined that nanoclay in PP could improve the crystallization of polymer matrix, since the crystallization temperature increased by 1.5 °C.…”

“…44 Recently, many works have been published describing the application of TGA and DSC techniques for characterize different polymers in order to provide information about their stability. [45][46][47] Concerning drugs, many studies are applied to determine their properties when making complexes with transition metal or during investigation about drug release of nanoparticles. [48][49][50][51][52][53] In the present study, TGA was applied to characterize the antibiotic doripenem considering its behavior when submitted to heating.…”
