We calculate one-loop corrections to the decays of the next-to-lightest neutralinoχ 0 2 into the lightest neutralinoχ 0 1 and two leptons; this includes diagrams where a real photon is emitted. In cases where two-body decaysχ 0 2 →l ± 1 l ∓ →χ 0 1 l − l + are kinematically allowed, we calculate these decays both with and without the single-pole approximation, and find consistent results. For example, for the minimal supergravity parameter set SPS1a, the integrated partial widths (the branching ratios) forχ 0 2 →χ 0 1 l − l + (l = e, µ) are enhanced by about 15.5 (15.0) percent by the one-loop corrections. We also study a scenario whereχ 0 2 cannot undergo two-body decays, and find corrections to these branching ratios of about 12.9 percent. Moreover, we study the dilepton invariant mass (M l + l − ) distribution, whose endpoint is often used in analyses that aim to reconstruct (differences of) supersymmetric particle masses at the LHC. The shape of this distribution is altered significantly by the emission of hard photons. For example, for the SPS1a parameter set the peak of the M l + l − distribution is shifted by several GeV when these contributions are included.

Noncommutative geometry has seen remarkable applications for high energy physics, viz. the geometrical interpretation of the Standard Model. The question whether it also allows for supersymmetric theories has so far not been answered in a conclusive way. In this first of three papers we do a systematic analysis of the possibilities for almost-commutative geometries on a 4-dimensional, flat background to exhibit not only a particle content that is eligible for supersymmetry but also have a supersymmetric action. We come up with an approach in which we identify the basic 'building blocks' of potentially supersymmetric theories and the demands for their action to be supersymmetric. Examples that satisfy these demands turn out to be sparse.
