The four decades of the International Scientific Conference on the Development of Organizational Sciences are a period that brought together the academic and professional public, students, esteemed guests. The time and space are fundamental components of human life. The time of the epidemic introduces uncertainty among the people. That is why the individual of today together with the whole society, can set the building blocks for the social interweaving of society, as we are used to. We are an organization of people. Relationships between employees in organizations are the starting point for guidelines for the development of organizational sciences. This year’s conference is entitled “Values, Competencies and Changes in Organizations”. We’ll focus on the individual and the organization, which with common values co-create the integration and progress of the society. An individual who’ll cope with changes in the organizational view and the wider society with the proper competence frame. Precisely because of the many changes that have befallen us as a society, the international conference calls for the exchange of views, opinions and, above all, scientific views on the development of organizations in the future. They will definitely be people. There will also be information and processes. All that binds and connects us for decades and will unite us in the common fight against today’s epidemiological situation. The challenge is not as great as our ideas and views for the organization and society of tomorrow.

“…If the estimates, use and final management are detailed in detail for each specific area and process that generates these wastes, an exhaustive and decisive analysis would be entered into to establish their importance economically [12]. Given this, it is highlighted that it is important to achieve detailed knowledge of waste or waste, since procedures are followed that lead to objectives not initially seen by the organization, where the rate of waste generation in all types of sector is first established in physical and then expands to the entire economy of itself [13]. Likewise, it is highlighted that the companies in the sector under study omit the evaluation of the impacts of waste, so it increases the importance of finding an approach that allows reducing the generation of waste in the production system of an organization [14].…”

This work presents the problem of excessive waste of labels that is generated in the printing of these. The printing process is the key process of the company, since it transforms the plastic rolls together with the inks and an error in the procedures causes the loss of the material entered and money. This drives to propose solutions through Lean techniques in the production of labels. In general, the studies are based on other lines in the plastic sector, such as pipes, bags, containers, among others. To address this problem, the Lean Manufacturing methodology adapted to a cycle of continuous improvement will be used, forming a solution proposal model, with techniques such as support 5s, the application of Autonomous Maintenance, Kanban and Standardization of Work. Based on a pilot test, a waste reduction of 7.78% and an improvement in the indicators that are involved in the investigation are obtained.

Lean Management is currently one of the best-known and is the most widely used management concepts in production enterprises. Lean creates such a culture of work in an organization that makes all participants in the organization interested in raising the level of quality, reducing costs and delivery time. However, there is no information about the influence of lean tools on the level of safety in production organizations. The paper presents the influence of five lean tools on the safety level by the example of metal manufacturing organization. The number of potentially dangerous situations and the number of accidents were taken as the measure of safety level. The obtained results indicates that the most important for the safety level is 5S, TPM while Kaizen, Poka-Yoka and VSM are smaller. The paper aims to broaden the knowledge about the dependence of the use of lean tools on the level of occupational safety.
