Abstract: The thermotropic phase behaviour of aqueous dispersions of some synthetic 1,2-di-O-alkyl-3-O-(beta-D-galactosyl)-rac-glycerols (rac-beta-D-GalDAGs) with both odd and even hydrocarbon chain lengths was studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), small-angle (SAXS) and wide-angle (WAXS) X-ray diffraction.
