“…Ballman et al (1961) were unable to attribute external ear infeetion to failure of the bactericidal activity of cerumen. Gill (1932) and Gregson and La Touche (1961) indicated that otomycosis was of considerable importance, a view not shared by Way (1955) ; Haley (1950) using Aspergillus niger experimentally, suggested that the condition might be a sensitivity reaction.
