Abstract: This paper examines the psychological variables and cultural factors that create obstacles for adult children of divorce in their search for romantic love. The psychological and sociological literature is clear. Adults who grew up in divorced families are twice as likely to get divorced as those who grew up in intact families (three times as likely if both partners came from divorced homes).
