Abstract: Obesity is linked to increased risk of Alzheimer's disease and cognitive impairment. Microglia-mediated neuroinflammation is implicated in neuronal loss. Elevated levels of fatty acids seen in obesity induce inflammation in peripheral tissues. Whether fatty acids promote neuroinflammation is unknown.
