Abstract:Cigarette smoke (CS) invokes an inflammatory response involving increased levels of circulating cytokines and chemokines, vascular dysfunction, and atherosclerosis. The role of sex and nicotine in CS effects in cardiovascular function and atherosclerosis is unexplored.
