Abstract: Objective: We aimed to evaluate the role of gated myocardial perfusion SPECT (MPS) and to investigate whether only the invasive coronary angiography (CAG) is sufficient in the diagnosis of the coronary artery disease (CAD) in women. Material and Methods: Sixty-four women (62±10 years) with known CAD were included in this study. They had echocardiography (ECHO), stress/rest gated MPS and invasive CAG. Coronary stenosis as of > 50 % in invasive CAG was accepted as significant. Gated MPS data were compared with i… Show more

“…In addition, G-MPI is a simultaneous measurement tool for cardiac function parameters, namely left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and ventricular wall motion (57). Adenosine stress G-MPI has been widely used in the diagnosis, risk stratification, and prognosis evaluation of CHD (8,9).…”

“…Coronary diameter stenosis of > 50 % in coronary angiography was considered as significant (10, 11). The number of coronary arteries with significant stenosis, the localization of stenosis and the maximal percentages of stenosis were determined.…”

“…SPECT imaging, mostly apply simultaneously with gated, is preferably performed in daily practice because of its high sensitivity, specificity, diagnostic accuracy and reader’s confidence in the interpretation of MPS SPECT results. Gated MPS helps in defining the suspected artifacts, risk stratification of patients with known or suspected CAD, myocardial viability, and enhanced detection of multivessels disease ( 3 ). Finally, high-sensitivity dedicated cardiac camera systems aid in injecting lower doses for MPS SPECT with an effective radiation dose of less than 1 mSv without significant loss of accuracy ( 4 ).…”
