One of the most comprehensive studies was completed in Quincy, Massachusetts, funded by the National Institute of Justice (Buzawa, Hotaling, & Klein, 1998). The research, similar to subsequent studies of specialized domestic violence probation supervision programs elsewhere (Burke, 2002;Feder & Ford, 2000;Hayler & Addison-Lamb, 2000;Hayler, Ford, & Addison-Lamb, 1999;Spence, 2001), indicated that the probation unit demonstrated impressive aggressiveness in their supervision.…”

Does Type of Child Risk Affect Whether Mothers Seek Assistance for Intimate Partner Violence From Civil or Criminal Court?
