“…It may be that older expecting parents feel more ready to take on the parenting role, and thus (ironically) more willing to engage in efforts to prepare for this role. Younger parents may still have a greater sense of personal invincibility that some have noted in adolescents, which leads to greater risk taking and perhaps less concern with preparing for challenges (Wickman, Greenberg, & Boren, 2010). In any case, it would appear that enhanced efforts to engage younger couples may be worthwhile.…”
