Abstract: This paper presents a review of 338 metallic endosteal oral implants of six designs that had been in situ for periods of up to seven years as observed by members of the Brookdale Group. Of the 338 impervious alloplastic endosteal implants studied, none but the endodontic endosteal implant demonstrated positive long range findings. I t would appear that the eventual demise of endosteal implants is predictable on a basis of time.
