Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…This work provides us a better insight into the particle formation and growth in dispersion polymerization. However, the experimental values of the exponent for various dispersion systems often deviate from the theoretical ones to some extent as, $[{\rm Monomer}]_{0}^{- (0.62- 1.02)} \cdot [{\rm Macromer}]_{0}^{- (0.4- 1.17)} \cdot [{\rm Initiator}]_{0}^{- (0.03- 0.1)} $ 17, 18, 27. The possible reason may be ascribed to the very complicated chemical and physical processes in polymerization, such as the breakdown of monodispersity of particle size distribution 12…”

“…The preparation of uniform polymer particles of micrometer size has attracted a great deal of interest 1, 2. Latexes with narrow particle size distribution have found a wide variety of applications, such as in toners, instrument calibration standards, column packing materials for chromatography, solid supports for organic and biopolymer synthesis, and the biochemical field, in biochemical analysis 2–5. These particles are difficult to obtain because their size lies between the size of the particles produced by conventional emulsion polymerization (0.06–0.7 µm) and suspension polymerization (50–1 000 µm).…”

“…Dispersion polymerization may be defined as a type of precipitation polymerization in which the polymerization is carried out in the presence of a suitable polymeric stabilizer, that is, soluble in the reaction medium. The continuous phase is chosen to be a solvent for the monomer to be polymerized and a non‐solvent for the resultant polymer 3, 11, 12. A steric stabilizer is used to produce a colloidally stable dispersion, without which the polymerization would afford macroscopic particles of polymer of uncontrolled size 13.…”
