The mechanism of skin/core morphology development and LCP (liquid crystalline polymer) fibril formation in polycarbonate/LCP blends was studied. A certain minimum concentration of the LCP phase must be present for the formation of continuous LCP fibrils in the extrudates. A skin‐core morphology characterizes the PC/LCP extrudates. Short LCP fibrils are formed in the capillary converging entrance section, through the elongation of LCP domains and their coalescence. Continuous fibrils were formed in th…
scite is a Brooklyn-based startup that helps researchers better discover and evaluate scientific articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by researchers from dozens of countries and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
