The Mechanical Properties of Centrifuged Concrete in Reinforced Concrete Structures

Abstract: This article explores the influence of transverse reinforcement (spiral) and high-strength longitudinal reinforcements on the physical-mechanical properties of centrifuged annular cross-section elements of concrete. The test results of almost 200 reinforced, and over 100 control elements are summarizing in this article. The longitudinal reinforcement ratio of samples produced in the laboratory and factory varied from 1.0% to 6.0%; the transverse reinforcement ratio varied from 0.25% to 1.25%; the pitch of spir… Show more

“…Vibrations make it possible to form more uniform and dense outer and middle layers. The internal part of the product comprises a mortar part with a large amount of squeezed out water from the top and middle layers and is the least durable [4,5]. In addition to thetechnological solutions aimed at improving physical and mechanical characteristics, there are inexpensive and effective formulation solutions that can improve the properties of vibrocentrifuged concrete [5].…”

“…Lately, the technology of vibrocentrifugation, specifically of concrete, has emerged as one of the most promising areas in modern concrete science and technology, allowing for reinforced concrete elements with a variatropic structure. Quite a lot of relevant and interesting scientific works are devoted to this issue from the points of view of materials [3][4][5], design solutions [6,7] and forecasting methods [8][9][10]. However, this area is poorly studied and there is a serious deficiency in both scientific and practical terms, which is expressed in the absence of systematic knowledge about the life cycle management processes of vibro-centrifuged variatropic concrete.…”

“…Combining the topics of concrete heterogeneity and the technology of its productioncentrifugation, we will focus on the works [29,[65][66][67]. In [65], the authors studied the effect of a steel shell on the bearing capacity and mechanical characteristics of concrete piles reinforced with a steel pipe.…”

“…In particular, the steel shell significantly increased the bearing capacity of the pile shaft, but reduced the strength of the laboratory sample heads, which led to an increase in the overall bearing capacity of the pile, but created potential difficulties for the installation of such piles [65]. The study [66] is devoted to the study of the effect of helical transverse and high-strength longitudinal reinforcement on the physical and mechanical properties of centrifuged reinforced concrete elements of an annular section. Reinforcement parameters and concrete strength varied.…”
