Abstract: Recent studies support the relevance of a 'neural-hematopoietic' inflammatory axis and clonal hematopoiesis as drivers of atherogenesis in humans. These data warrant further studies addressing the role of novel 'hematopoietic' targets for the treatment of patients with increased cardiovascular risk.
