Abstract: The phase transition kinetics and mechanism of formation of a lamellar-crystalline phase of dipalmitoylphosphatidylethanolamine (DPPE) dispersed in different concentrations of aqueous dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) during cooling have been examined by differential scanning calorimetry and synchrotron X-ray diffraction techniques.
