The interplay between global standards and local practice in nursing

Abstract: Abstract:2 Purpose: The paper assesses the extent, form, and transformation of global nursing classifications (NANDA) in a nursing practice during a period of five years.Method: Mixed-method: a) quantitative frequency analysis and b) qualitative (longitudinal case study)Results: A surprisingly high proportion (95.5%) of nursing diagnoses were consistent with the global standard, in spite of the users' relative freedom in the practice of coding.
