Two new vanadium phosphates (NH 4 ) 5 [C 4 N 3 H 16 ] 2 [NH 3 (CH 2 ) 2 NH 3 ] 2 [PV 18 IV O 46 ]ÁH 2 O (1) and [C 4 N 3 H 16 ] 4 [(PV 12 IV V 6 V O 46 )(PO 4 )]ÁH 2 O (2) have been successfully synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and structurally characterized by elemental analysis, infrared (IR), thermogravimetry (TG), and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P21/n, a = 13.183 (8), b = 20.148(13), c = 22.273(14) Å , b = 102.198(8)°, V = 5,782(6) Å 3 , Z = 4; compound 2 crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group C2/c, a = 23.917(2), b = 12.9647(12), c = 20.1922(19) Å , b = 105.382(1)°, V = 6,036.9(10) Å 3 , Z = 4. Magnetic susceptibility measurements reveal antiferromagnetic interactions between V 4? atoms of 1 and 2.
