Professional identities may influence a wide range of attitudes, ethical standards, professional commitments and patient safety. This study aimed to explore the important elements that comprise pediatricians’ professional identities. A Q-methodology was used to identify the similarities and differences in professional identity. Forty pediatricians were recruited from two tertiary referral hospitals in Taiwan. A list of statements was developed by five attending physicians and three residents. R software was used to analyze the Q-sorts to load the viewpoints and formulate the viewpoint arrays. Additional qualitative data—one-to-one personal interviews—were analyzed. Twenty-eight of forty pediatricians, 11 males and 17 females, with an average age of 39.9 (27–62) years, were associated with four viewpoints. We labeled the four viewpoints identified for professional identity as (1) professional recognition, (2) patient communication, (3) empathy and (4) insight. The professional recognition viewpoint comprised of youngest participants—28–36 years—with the majority as residents (77.8%), while the empathy viewpoint comprised the oldest participants—38–62 years—with all as attending physicians. All participants in the empathy and insight viewpoints were married. This study found professional identity to be a multifaceted concept for pediatricians, especially in the areas of professional recognition, patient communication, empathy and insight into patient care.

Introdução: O Transtorno de Déficit de Atenção e Hiperatividade (TDAH) é uma condição neuropsiquiátrica caracterizada por sintomas de desatenção, hiperatividade e impulsividade. O tratamento padrão para o TDAH geralmente envolve uma abordagem interdisciplinar que pode incluir psicoterapia, educação, modificações comportamentais e farmacoterapia. Materiais e Métodos: Foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica integrativa da literatura, de caráter exploratório e descritivo de plataformas como Scielo e Pubmed, com a amostragem total de 54 artigos. Para o cruzamento de dados foram utilizados os descritores: TDAH Infantil, Artes marciais, Jiu-Jitsu, Judô. Resultados e Discussão: Através da prática regular, as crianças aprendem a canalizar sua energia de maneira produtiva, melhorando não apenas sua autoestima, mas também sua capacidade de interagir harmoniosamente em diferentes contextos sociais. As artes marciais oferecem mais do que aprimoramento físico e mental, elas promovem uma integração social e um senso de pertencimento, mitigando as dificuldades de interação que muitas vezes acompanham o TDAH. Entretanto, a falta de marcadores biológicos prejudica o diagnóstico do TDAH precoce, tornando-o subjetivo através das avaliações comportamentais, podendo gerar atrasos ou supervalorização de sintomas. Conclusão: As artes marciais podem ser uma ferramenta complementar no tratamento do Transtorno do Déficit de Atenção e Hiperatividade (TDAH) em crianças. Mergulhando na tradição milenar das artes marciais e suas práticas, destacamos seu valor terapêutico além do aspecto físico, como uma pedagogia profunda e intervenção psicossocial. A prática dessas artes emerge como um meio para o desenvolvimento de habilidades como controle de impulsos e resolução de problemas, abordando eficazmente os desafios impostos pelo TDAH. A estrutura progressiva do ensino das artes marciais fortalece a resiliência e a autoconfiança, capacitando as crianças a superar desafios diversos.

Immunization is a public health intervention activity that contributes to reducing child morbidity and mortality; It is a low-cost intervention and helps with economic and social development. It is known that the health vaccination system is the best way to prevent deaths from diseases and increase life expectancy, especially when it comes to cost and effectiveness. However, population resistance to vaccines is known. Therefore, the study aimed to identify the main difficulties faced by parents and guardians in complying with vaccinations for children aged 0 to 2 years. This is an integrative literature review in the Medline, Lilacs, Bdenf databases, published between 2011 and 2021, resulting in 15 articles after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria. After systematic analysis of the articles, it was necessary to include three thematic axes: Factors related to tutors; Factors related to professionals and delay variables. It is concluded, from the studies analyzed, that failures in immunization occur due to several factors involving philosophical, cultural, political issues, organization of services, lack of training in professionals, creating a deficit of knowledge and little qualification than is known, favoring myths and fake news. In this sense, it is necessary to reconstruct the dissemination of information in vaccination rooms, with a view to articulating technical knowledge and practical knowledge.
