The effects of 45S5 bioactive glass and Er:YAG Laser on the microtensile bond strength of fluorosed teeth

Abstract: This vitro study aimed to evaluate the effects of 45S5 bioactive glass (BAG) and Er: YAG laser as desensitization treatments on the microtensile bond strength (MTBS) of fluorosed teeth. The 120 noncarious fluorosis were to obtain superficial dentin, being classified into four groups according to the Thylstrup and Fejerskov Index (TFI). Specimens from each group were randomly divided into five subgroups. After fluorosed teeth hypersensitivity models were established, the following pretreatments were applied on … Show more

“…As the DC was not influenced by the addition of 50% DMSO, that null hypothesis was not rejected. The bond strength of SE-F was consistently lower than that of ML-F, while the bond strength of MD-F was at an intermediate level, consistent with previous studies, 22,23 suggesting that dental fluorosis is a gradual change from quantitative to qualitative. 20,22,23 Dental fluorosis, Representative scanning electron microscope images (original magnification ×50 000).…”

“…Er: YAG laser has been con rmed to improve the structure and function of dental uorosis, which may alleviate the poor bonding capability 24,25 . Moreover, Er: YAG laser was considered to be used in orthodontic brackets re-bonding, providing a better bonding approach 18,26 .…”
