The closure of schools and campuses due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the recent years has been shocking and resulted in a new learning habit from face-to-face interaction to online activities. Challenges, problems, potentials, and other attributes related to the administration of online teaching and learning are highly necessary to be explored. This study is conducted to portray college students’ learning experiences at the time of COVID-19 pandemic as well as post-pandemic recovery in Pakistan. A narrative inquiry by means of written reflection and semi-structured interviews is employed to scrutinize the online learning experiences of 19 university learners’ studying at a medical university in Pakistan. This study’s results depict that the use social media has dominated the whole learning activities in higher education context experienced by the students. Although the students confessed that they were ill-prepared, and there were issues with electricity supply, unstable internet connection, and access to digital equipment, they were still motivated to engage in online learning activities. When they were asked to provide opinion about the teaching modes, most of them argued that face-to-face interaction in a formal classroom was more preferred. The findings offer an empirical implication that teachers and related stakeholders are required to enhance the efficacy of online learning activities in Pakistan. Moreover, the findings contribute as an input enhancement to improve the quality of digital learning from the students’ point of views, both at the time of COVID-19 pandemic and post-pandemic recovery.

This research aimed to find out the effectiveness of the use of social networking media Edmodo on class discussions on practical learning of English; and the relationship between the use of social networking media Edmodo and students’ participation in class discussions on practical learning of English. The sample of this research was 32 students of class XI in the 2022/2023 academic year of Kebangsaan senior high school Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia. This research was an experimental research type using a factorial design, where the test variable (x1) was the use of Edmodo social media, the control variable (x2) was without the use of Edmodo social media, the dependent variable (y1) consisted of students’ participation in class discussion in the first simulation on practical English teaching materials (y1), and the second simulation on practical English teaching materials (y2). The results of the MANOVA test proved that the effectiveness of using discussion forums using Edmodo to increase students' English learning participation. As a result, there were differences in students’ participation in class discussions in the first simulation on English practice teaching material (y1), and the second simulation on English practice teaching material (y2) with those who did not take part in discussions on the social networking media Edmodo (x2).

Information and communication technology advances have been utilized in many sectors of human life, including educational practices. This study aims to reveal the innovation practices of app-based digital application platforms. This research was conducted using a systematic literature review (SLR) approach. Data sources come from research journal articles and books by the theme of the discussion. The data analysis technique uses content analysis. The finding or result of this research is that learning can utilize digital platform features as part of learning innovation. Digital platforms that can be utilized are such as Microsoft Teams and Edmodo applications. Both applications have many services, such as video conferencing, presentations, assignments, and online assessments. The utilization of digital platforms in schools in the Industrial Age 4.0 aligns with the development and challenges of the rapidly changing times. Digital platforms are part of the innovations that can be used as alternative media and real solutions for technology-integrated learning. Learning with digital platform media can increase student participation and collaboration and provide new, in-depth learning experiences.
