The effect of positive end-expiratory pressure during anesthesia on arterial oxygen saturation after surgery in patient undergoing cesarean section

Abstract: One of the major complications of general anesthesia in the recovery room is arterial oxygen desaturation and hypoxemia. Positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) can improve arterial oxygen saturation by increasing FRC. This study aims to evaluate the effects of applying PEEP on arterial oxygen saturation and hemodynamic parameters in the patient undergoing cesarean section in VALIASR hospital. In this double blind clinical trial we randomly allocated 120 patients of class1 and 2 ASA scheduled to undergoing ces… Show more

“…19-22 We are thus wondering if we have to change the meaning of the acronym Ejtm from European Journal of Translational Myology to include the very heterogeneous collection of papers that the journal is attracting (see the index of the Volume 28(1), 2018). 23 To start the process a new section of the journal is included in the list of Ejtm Advisors, that now includes the Section: Mobility Medicine, Helmut Kern and Giorgio Vescovo, Eds. They are, indeed, excellent Myologists, but their interests and results span very far from structure/function of the skeletal muscle tissue in health and disease.…”

“…At last, but hopefully not at least, a series of Rapid Reports from Iranian Authors are paving the pathway Venetia– extreme Orient, along the ancient silk-road. 5-13 Indeed, in the previous 28(2), 2018 EJTM Issue dedicated to the Giovanni Salviati Memorial, 14 Iranian authors also published a few papers, 15-18 that opened the way for submissions beyond the topic of Mobility to a broader series of medical and surgical researches and trials. The Advisors are, thus, inviting potential Authors of the incoming EJTM Issues to submit typescripts taking into account that the journal is keen to publish high level papers in the fields of Myology, Mobility and Medicine.…”
