“…Loss of phenolic compounds was directly linked to processing conditions and loss of other nutrients and antioxidants, which contributed to deterioration. It was noted that the decrease in these beneficial compounds was mainly linked to the processing temperature, and to some extent, the changes by sonication and exposure time (Liović et al., 2020). Sonication is a well‐established technique used to extract the bioactive compounds under controlled conditions (Ali et al., 2018; Lafarga et al., 2019).…”

“…Ultrasound treatment or sonication has attracted much attention as a substitute for heat treatment (Ali et al., 2018; Liović et al., 2020). In addition to preserving the nutritional components, ultrasonic processing has been shown to improve the quality in minimal flavor loss, and cloud value overheat treatment.…”

“…"Green" extraction technology can decrease solvents, shorten the extraction time, lower energy, and decrease environmental pollution and uses safe thermolabile constituents. Green extraction techniques, such as ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE), supercritical extraction, and microwave-assisted extraction, have specific applications (Kate et al, 2016;Liović et al, 2021;Viell et al, 2020). Ultrasound waves (from 20 kHz to 100 MHz) during extraction can damage and disrupt cell membranes, release cell contents, and enhance the extraction yield (Chemat et al, 2009;Liović et al, 2021).…”

Ultrasound waves (from 20 kHz to 100 MHz) during extraction can damage and disrupt cell membranes, release cell contents, and enhance the extraction yield (Chemat et al, 2009;Liović et al, 2021). The main advantages of UAE are reduced extraction time, saving energy, and solvent use, faster energy transfer, reduced extraction temperature, reduced equipment size, faster response to the process, and quick start-up (Chemat et al, 2004;Viell et al, 2020).…”

“…They determined that phenolics demonstrated high stability after the simulated gastric digestion stage, especially in the freeze-drying system. As a result, they declared that the use of freeze-drying and high-intensity ultrasound can provide better digestion and higher antioxidant activity of blueberry phenolics after digestion [10]. Yeşim Daşdemir, in her study, dried blueberries with two different methods (traditional method and freeze-drying method) and mixed black tea with different concentrations of the fruit (20%, 30%, 40%, and 50%) achieved and obtained a new and natural fruit-containing product.…”
