Abstract: The effect of hydrogen distribution was studied on the rate and selectivity of hydrogenation of sunflower oil in a bubbled air-lift-type reactor and in a laboratory reactor with interchangeable agitators. It was found that the change of bubbling regime considerably influences character of the reaction. The hydrodynamic properties of agitators have even the surprising effect on the kinetics of hydrogenation.
