The subject of the study was to examine the quality of a marriage correlates in population in Kosovo and Metohija. The main goal of the research was to examine the relationship of marriage quality with: marital locus of control, social support, length of marriage, age, material status and educational level of the respondents. The sample was consisted of respondents of both sexes (N = 200) with a permanent residence in the central part of Kosovo and Metohija. The study used: scale of adaptation in marriage, scale of marital locus control, evaluation list of interpersonal support and the questionnaire of the elementary data of the respondents. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and by t-test. The results showed that the quality of marriage and individual dimensions are: satisfaction of marriage, cohesion, couple's harmony and expressing emotions are closer to theoretical maximum. Marital locus of control is low in regard to the theoretical maximum, while the external marital locus of control is average value. Social support expressed in general, as well as individually by the perception of availability, (ie. The type of perceived social support: evaluation as (informative) support, touchable (concrete) support, self-esteem and belonging to support to support) is closer to the theoretical maximum. There is negative correlation between internal locus of control with the quality of marriage in general and in dimensions (marriage satisfaction, cohesion and couple's harmony). Then negative correlation of internal locus of control with age and years spent in marriage and positive correlation of internal locus of control with material status and self-esteem as a type of perceived social support. There was not obtained statistically significant correlation quality of marriage with external marital locus of control. There were not obtained statistically significant correlation of age, years spent in marriage, material status and educational level of respondents with social support in general and by type observed social support. By these studies the different results were obtained than supposed ones, which indicate to certain specifics of a sample, but also selection of respondent that could affect the results. The obtained results showed that the study of this issue should continue, with the involvement of a larger number of respondents and other variables, which are supposed that are associated with the quality of marriage, but not covered by this study. It is particularly important to continue the research correlates of the quality of marriage, spouses and families in whole on the sample in Kosovo and Metohija, because it is the sample and the issue that almost were not researched in this area.

ABSTRACT. The aim of this research is to examine the psychometric properties of the Academic Locus of Control Scale (Akın, 2007) in adolescence. The research was conducted with 587 (301 + 286) adolescents in total. Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) of sampling adequacy was calculated as .72 and a significant result was found on Bartlett's test of Sphericity χ 2 = 561. 619 (p< .001, df = 136). Results confirmatory factor analyses demonstrated that 17 items yielded two factors as original form and that the two-dimensional model was appropriate (χ² = 697.06, df =392, RMSEA= .059, GFI = .94, CFI = .93, AGFI = .92 and SRMR = .047). Factor loadings ranged from .32 to .88. Cronbach alpha internal consistency coefficient was found as .71,5 for internal academic locus of control sub-scale, .81 for external academic locus of control sub-scale. In the concurrent validity significant relationships were found between academic locus of control, locus of control, student responsibility, and student responsibility. Test-retest reliability coefficient was as .81 for internal academic locus of control and .79 for external academic locus of control. Corrected item-total correlations ranged from .41 to .81. Overall results demonstrated that the Academic Locus of Control Scale can be named as a valid and reliable instrument that could be used in the field of education with adolescents. Key words: Academic locus of control, adolescence, validity, reliability, confirmatory factor analysis SUMMARY Purpose and significance: Student who has academic internal locus of control believes that his/her success /failure are the reason for his/her efforts and abilities. If she/he has academic external locus of control, s/he thinks that her/his success or failure is because of fate or luck. There are no scales to measure the levels of academic locus of control for adolescents in Turkey. Therefore, some scales are necessary for investigation of academic locus of control, which is a very important concept in that reflection of academic achievement. The aim of this research is to adapt Academic Locus of Control Scale to adolescents and to examine its psychometric properties. Method: The general research model was adopted for this study. The research was conducted with 587 (301 + 286) adolescents in total. The validity of scale was calculated by exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis and criterion related validity methods. Nowicki-Strickland Locus of Control Scale, The Student Responsibility Scale and Motivational Persistence Scale were used for the criterion related validity. As for the reliability analysis, Cronbach alpha internal consistency coefficients, the item-total correlations, and the differences between mean scores of upper 27% and lover 27% groups were examined. For the analysis of data, SPSS 17 and LISREL 8.54 were utilized. The main purpose of the research is to find out the relation of social-demographic factors (education, family status, professional activity and place of residence) and the type of locus of control. Participants for the present study were 608 persons ranged between 15 and 65 years of age. The majority of the participants (472, 77.7%) indicated an external locus of control. Three of four factors -family status, professional activity, and education -had a significant relationship, and place of residence was the only factor without a significant relationship with the locus of control.
