Abstract: More is known about the brain than ever before, with more yet to be discovered. Educators are just beginning to learn how new knowledge of the brain can be applied to enhance learning for people of all ages. This chapter describes current knowledge of the brain and consciousness and concludes with how this knowledge affects our understanding of adult learning.
