Agricultural waste, especially from the use of fertilizers and pesticides, has become a serious problem in several countries because it has caused a decrease in river water quality. The land use and livelihoods of the people in the Kreo watershed are oriented towards agricultural activities. This study aims to (1) analyze the pattern of agricultural land use in the Kreo watershed and (2) analyze the impact of agricultural waste on river water quality in the Kreo watershed. The method used is descriptive quantitative. Analysis of the impact of agricultural waste on river water quality was carried out by laboratory testing of river water samples that referred to the criteria for water quality standards based on class according to Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 82 of 2001 for class I river designation. Laboratory tests of water samples used parameters TSS, TDS, Nitrate, BOD, and COD. While the analysis of the status of water quality using the STORET method. The results showed that the pattern of use of rice fields was clustered upstream and in the middle, farmland was clustered in the downstream and mixed gardens were spread out in the upstream, middle, and downstream areas. The status of river water quality in the upstream and middle parts of the Kreo watershed has been lightly polluted, while the downstream still meets the quality standards. The river water will be harmful to human health if it is intended as a raw source of drinking water.

In the last 100 years, river water pollution has continued to increase along with industrial, agricultural, and human population developments. Various attempts are being carried out continuously to characterize river water quality. The status of water quality needs to be determined as an effort to monitor water systems for clean water need and the biota life need. The purpose of this study was to examine the water quality status of the Bekasi River based on Physics parameters (Temperature, Turbidity, TDS, Salinity, and Electrical Conductivity) and Chemistry parameters (pH, COD, content of Iron, Nitrite, Zinc, Chromium, and Copper), as an effort to river water pollution monitoring. Parameter measurements were carried out from August to September 2022 at six observation locations along the Bekasi River. The procedure for collecting samples refers to SNI 03-7016-2004. The data obtained were then compared with water quality standards based on applicable government regulations and analyzed using the STORET method. The index calculation results show that the six locations are lightly polluted, with a negative score of -8. Based on these results, the waters of the Bekasi River in the October-September period belong to class B with the “Good” category.

Kelurahan Arjosari merupakan daerah yang didominasi oleh kawasan permukiman sebesar 91,93% dari luas wilayahnya. Pertambahan penduduk daerah tersebut yang pesat menyebabkan pengaruh pada aktivitas rumah tangga terutama dalam pembuangan limbah domestik ke sungai melalui jalur jaringan drainase. Apalagi, limbah yang dibuang tanpa adanya pengelolahan terlebih dahulu sehingga dapat memungkinkan penurunan kualitas air pada drainase. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu adalah untuk mengetahui kondisi kualitas air berdasarkan baku mutu yang telah ditetapkan sesuai peruntukannya dan menghitung status mutu air menggunakan metode STORET. Hasil pemantuan kualitas air dibandingkan dengan Peraturan Pemerintah No. 22 Tahun 2021 menunjukan bahwa parameter DO melebihi batas baku mutu kelas II dan III. Berdasarkan, perhitungan status mutu air menggunakan metode STORET pada kelas II dan kelas III termasuk dalam kategori tercemar ringan. Akan tetapi, pada kelas IV memenuhi baku mutu sehingga air drainase di Kelurahan Arjosari yang mengalir ke Sungai Bango dapat digunakan untuk mengairi pertanaman atau peruntukan lain yang sama dengan kegunaan tersebut. Penanggulangan terhadap pencemaran air limbah domestik dapat dilakukan dengan pengadaan Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah (IPAL) sehingga air limbah dari rumah tangga dapat diolah terlebih dahulu sebelum dibuang pada saluran drainase dan dialirkan ke sungai.
