The Approach to Carbon Emission Quotas of Road Transportation: A Carbon Emission Intensity Perspective

Abstract: Carbon trading is an effective measure for the road transportation to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions. Carbon emission quotas are the primary concern to ensuring the efficiency of carbon trading. However, the existing studies have mostly focused on carbon emission quotas in different regions, i.e., countries and provinces. Few literature studies simulate carbon quota allocation in the road transportation. A novel approach from the perspective of carbon emission intensity of vehicle is proposed, … Show more

“…In the long run, it will further reduce carbon emissions. Timely innovation and adoption of low-carbon policy mix can enhance consumers' participation willingness and emission reduction effect [33]. (3) Considering the emission reduction path under multiple low-carbon policy mixes innovation, the low-carbon policy mix can be combined with the market-based low-carbon policy and the commandand-control low-carbon policy to promote carbon emission reduction of urban private cars.…”

“…With the vigorous advancement of the new energy security strategy of "energy consumption revolution, energy supply revolution, energy technology revolution and energy system revolution", in 2020, my country put forward the new energy transition goal of "carbon neutrality and carbon peaking" for the first time. 1 Under the blueprint of the strategic goal of energy transition, my country's power system is gradually developing in the direction of a new power system with renewable energy as the main body. It is worth noting that the distribution network, as the main form of distributed energy access and a key link in improving the consumption of renewable energy, is a strong guarantee for achieving the "dual carbon" goal.…”
