Abstract: The Age of Translation is a book-length commentary on Walter Benjamin's essay "The Task of the Translator". The book is made up of ten "cahiers", or notebooks, each one corresponding to a seminar delivered by French translation theorist Antoine Berman as part of a series given at the Collège international de philosophie in 1984-5.
