“…The sixth oxygen forming O-V O4 -O bonds lies opposite to the ''yl'' oxygen. The strong axial distortion is the reason for which g and A components have nearly equal values for all the studied samples [24].…”

“…4). The values of g || = 2.4 and g ⊥ = 2.04 suggest that the Cu +2 ions in the glasses are coordinated by six ligands that form an octahedron elongated along the z-axis [47][48][49][50][51]. The value g || > g ⊥ > g e (g e = 2.002) shows that the ground state of Cu +2 ions is d x 2 −y 2 orbital ( 2 B 1g state).…”

“…Cr 3+ is interesting in TM ions, because of being extreme sensitivity in optical spectra to the nature of the host matrix. Hence, Cr 3+ is a very useful probe to obtain information about an amorphous local environment in the glasses [22]. Even though, the previous spectroscopic results of Cr 3+ in Pb 3 O 4 -ZnO-P 2 O 5 glass matrix indicated as nearly octahedral site symmetry for Cr 3+ , the detailed studies on the structure and properties of phosphate glasses have been rather limited due to hygroscopic behaviour and volatility of P 2 O 5 at elevated temperatures [23].…”
