P. oocarpa is a species rich in turpentine, and its oleoresin is a mixture of highly volatile monoterpenes, including α - and β -pinenes, which have been identified as highly effective MWCNT precursors capable of providing a high yield ( Lara-Romero et al, 2011 ).
