“…Q5 Hot Start high fidelity DNA polymerase (NEB, Ipswich, MA, USA) was used to amplify the SSU rRNA gene using primers Euk-A (5 -AAYCTGGTTGATYYTGCCAG-3 ) and Euk-B (5 -CYGCAGGTTCACCTACRG-3 ), resulting in a near-complete SSU rDNA fragment (Medlin et al, 1988).
