Taxonomic and numeric structure of Chironomidae (Diptera) in different habitats of a Neotropical floodplain

Abstract: ABSTRACT. We characterized the local benthic Chironomidae by analyzing the numerical density, biomass, diversity index of Shannon-Wiener and dominance of larvae in the main channel of the Ivinhema River, in a secondary channel, in five lakes connected to the main channel and in five lakes without connection.
