“…MM has been reported to occur in tattoos, vaccination scars and tattoo sites used for radiotherapy field marking. To our knowledge, there are only 8 documented cases of MM after tattooing in the medical literature during the years reviewed (1991-2011), but there are several case reports on tattoo pigment in sentinel lymph node biopsies mimicking MM [4,8,48,49]. In all these cases, the migration of tattoo pigments via lymphatic drainage was initially considered as evidence for metastatic tumors until proper histopathological examination.…”
