“…Me 3 NBH 2 CO 2 H also increased DNA's melting point (T m ), indicating an effect on DNA binding, but not on DNA cross-linking [16]. However, these interactions with DNA were not substantiated since subsequent studies using 14 C-radiolabelled Me 3 NBH 2-*CO 2 H demonstrated only a 0.39% DNA binding in vitro in L 1210 cultured cells indicating little direct action of Me 3 NBH 2 *CO 2 H with DNA itself to induce strand scission [18]. The amine-borane did demonstrate an inhibition of the phosphorylation of topoisomerase II by protein kinase C (PKC) resulting in decreased activity of topoisomerase II, which results in DNA strand scission after 8 hr.…”

Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…For instance, peptide boronic acids are among the most potent, known inhibitors of serine proteases (21). As a result, the synthesis of boron-containing amino acid derivatives has become an area of considerable interest (22,23).…”
